Really good meals highlighted by locally sourced ingredients impressed. The restaurant staff was attentive, particularly Bela and Balazs, whose service. The experience could be marred slightly by the challenges of large group bookings, as it seemed to affect the overall ambiance.

I have stayed there before and like the location for Waddesdon Manor and also the quaintness of it. It is not a modern large luxury hotel, but a small, unique different experience and for that is excellent. The restaurant is 1st class. Of course, being on the top floor is not easy, but the manager was more than helpful with our luggage, Un fortunately, on this occasion we were not able to sit outside in the lovely garden due to the weather.
The only thing we didn't like were the stairs, but obviously a lift would be impossible and would spoil the atmosphere.

The hotel has a pleasant ambience and the historic aspect and connection with Waddesden Manor was interesting as we were visiting the Manor the following day. It has a more personal feel to it than the bigger hotel chains - more like a country house than a hotel. The staff were welcoming and the service excellent.
The only downside was traffic noise - our room was at the front and there were HGV's passing during the night and commuter traffic from 6.00 am. It was a warm night and we therefore had to have a window open to get some air.

It was a very friendly and comfortable hotel. The rooms were clean and well fitted out. The food was excellent. If we were not staying there we would go there to eat anyway. I cannot recommend this hotel more strongly. It was extremely good value and will use it again when we are in that district.

Attractive building, old fashioned feel food and house wine was good.
Plumbing and bathroom was a bit "tired". I was in a room above kitchen - could hear the fan.

A comfortable room with good en-suite, an excellent dinner in a pleasant dining room, and good cooked breakfast.
Only liquid soap was available in the bathroom, out of reach while sitting in the bath. There is no residents' lounge, but our room provided comfortable chairs. Neither of those was a serious issue.

Consider pre-ordering dinner to avoid disappointment, as popular dishes require reservations due to high demand.

Staff were lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful place, large, comfortable room, excellent food. We attended a party hosted in the stables, which was really well run. Also really nice to be able to walk round the grounds of Waddesdon Manor.

Staff, Design, Location because we were in Aylesbury for the theatre, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, the style and feel of an Edwardian hotel (I imagine)

Our evening was enhanced by delicious duck breast and friendly staff, but breakfast was disappointing with a long wait and no guidance on buffet options.

Good welcome, nice ambience in an old building. Good food and local beer.

It is located at the gates of the Waddesdon Manor (which is well worth a visit) and the Hotel is a good starting point. It is an attractive building with good parking. Nothing else really came up to our expectations.
The Service was "mixed". Most of the staff were good but were let down by one individual who really is in the wrong job. It is a noisy hotel. Traffic noise at the front and noisy smokers/leavers at the rear. The dinner was only "fair" and over priced particularly when it is remembered that the facility is classed as a five star "Restaurant with Rooms." The breakfast was not up to expected standard.
